In addition to maintaining the financial health of Beth Sholom by paying your dues and participating in our fundraising efforts, there are many other opportunities for you to contribute to our community. These opportunities have the potential to bring a sense of fulfillment and connection to your Jewish identity and expression, and will profoundly impact our community. Please check the opportunities below that you would like to participate in.

Committee Participation
I am offering my expertise and talents in one or more of the following areas:

Community

I can bring meals to members in need of support.
I am able to organize a meal train if the person lives near or within my zip code.I am interested in volunteering at Beth Sholom (events, office, etc).I would like to be paired with a new member of the community to help integrate them and make them feel welcome.I would like to be paired with a conversion student to sit with them in services, be a mentor and friend, and help them navigate a new community.I would like to be an active grandparent figure in the community (read books in the preschool, be paired with a family, etc).I would like to volunteer as a greeter at Shabbat services and events.I am available to help with rides to/from Synagogue on Shabbat.I am available to help with Chicken Soupers.

Education and Learning
I would like to teach someone how to lead Shabbat or weekday tefilah (prayer).I have a particular skill, interest or topic or know someone that could teach as a session for the “Jews for Hot Cocoa” post-B’nai Mitzvah teen program.I am passionate about Jewish life and learning and could lead an experience or activity to the Shabbat School community.I have ideas and interests for adult learning experiences and would be excited to partner with a Beth Sholom staff member to bring them to life and offer them to the community.I would like to learn how to lead Shabbat or weekday tefilah (prayer).I would like to learn how to read Torah.

Ritual
I know how to read Torah and I would like to participate in the Torah readers rotation.I am willing to help with morning or evening minyan services throughout the year.I will attend at least one shiva in the home of a community member who I do not have a close relationship with.
