Welcome to the 2023-2024 Beth Sholom membership renewal process. This is an important opportunity to recommit to all that we do and all that we stand for, from Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat, to Kiddushim, to our preschool, to youth education, to our daily Minyan, to social action, to us being the only Conservative synagogue in San Francisco, and to the vibrant, growing community that we are. Our history is rich and our future incredibly bright, as long as you are part of it. Which, of course, we hope you will be.

At this time, we ask, please, that you:

1. Pledge your membership to Beth Sholom, and
2. Indicate your interest in participating in Beth Sholom programs and activities.

As you peruse the membership options, you will see that the membership categories have been simplified and that the Building Fund has been eliminated. Given this, we hope you will take the generous step of becoming a Parnas Fellowship member for the upcoming year. Parnas Fellowship members, in addition to playing a vital role in supporting the synagogue, will be invited to special events in appreciation of their contribution to the maintenance and growth of Beth Sholom. Please consider becoming a Parnas Fellowship member.

* Young(ish) Membership. If you are a family with young children, your participation in Young(ish) is welcomed and encouraged, though this discounted membership is reserved for individuals and couples without children.

**Associate Membership. An Associate Member is one who is affiliated with another synagogue or lives outside of the Bay Area. Associate membership is 50% of the base membership rate. Please note that High Holy Days tickets are not included in Associate Membership.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

In keeping with our faith and tradition, no Jewish person will be turned away from membership at Beth Sholom due to an inability to provide financial support to our community. If you need to discuss a dues adjustment, please check the box below and Alan Schnur, Acting Executive Director, will contact you.

I know how to lead Shabbat or weekday tefilah (prayer) and would like to teach someone else.I have a particular skill, interest or topic that I could teach as a session for the “Jews for Hot Cocoa” post-B’nai Mitzvah teen program, and/or I can connect CBS with someone who could lead a session.I am passionate about Jewish life and learning and could offer an experience and/or activity to the Shabbat School community, which could be related to a Jewish value, a holiday, or the weekly Torah portion.I have ideas and interests for adult learning experiences and would be excited to partner with a Beth Sholom staff member to bring them to life and offer them to the community.

RITUAL

I know how to read Torah and I would like to participate in the Torah readers rotation.I will attend at least two morning minyan services throughout the year. You never know when you might need the minyan or when the minyan will need you!I will attend at least one shiva in the home of a community member who I do not have a close relationship with.I live near the synagogue, and I am willing to be “on call” (via WhatsApp / text) if help is needed to make an in-person minyan.I am willing to be “on call” (via WhatsApp / text) if help is needed to make a minyan online.
